    USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Grant

    January 2011

    The Public Utility District No. 1 of Okanogan County submitted for and has been awarded American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding to deploy a Middle Mile and Last Mile broadband communication system throughout the county capable of meeting long-term residential, commercial, industrial and civic services to promote and expand the Districts Open Access Network for retail service providers.

    Okanogan PUD Fiber Network

    October 25, 2011

    Okanogan PUD built a fiber optic network backbone to provide a wide variety of data services for the District and our community. This backbone stretches from the Columbia River junction in Brewster to the Canadian border.
